Nagaland is today hosting the fourth and final B-20 session being held in the North East under the G-20 Forum. About sixty delegates from 27 countries are participating in the meeting. These include ambassadors from Cuba, Iceland, Jamaica and Paraguay. In addition, the Deputy Head of Mission from Estonia and two Consul Generals from Costa Rica and Germany are participating in the meeting. 24 diplomats from G-20 countries, 39 foreign industries and three diplomats are also participating in the meeting.
In the keynote address at the B-20 meeting at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh said that the beauty of Nagaland is unmatched and it is a mythical state. Is. He said that the hosting of B-20 in Kohima is a fortunate occasion.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said India’s North East region has opened up to the world in the last two decades and the state offers immense opportunities for trade and services to the outside world. The Chief Minister assured that the State Government is committed to create an investor-friendly environment, provision of basic amenities and institutional support.
Dr. Singh said the B-20 meeting is a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of India’s G-20 chairmanship. He said that it should be celebrated in every corner of the country. The Minister said that India’s North East is the gateway to South East Asia.
He said that after the completion of the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway, land connectivity of Nagaland would be established with the intermediate countries of ASEAN and countries outside. He said that the Union Government is continuously working to establish uninterrupted land and rail links with Bangladesh.
