It was suppressed by making a fox hole five feet below the road. If there was a blast in these explosives connected in series, there could be a big loss. About a month back, on April 26, Naxalites had carried out a similar blast at Aranpur in Dantewada. 50 kg IED was also used in that. 10 soldiers were martyred in the attack.
Explosives were planted in the series by making fox holes
According to the information, CRPF 168 and 222nd battalion personnel had gone on a search from Thana Awapalli on Wednesday. During this, the jawans recovered the IED near the Durga temple on the Awapalli-Basaguda road. The Naxalites had made a fox hole eight feet in length and five feet in depth on the middle of the road. In this, IED explosives of 25-25 kg were planted in series in two plastic containers. The jawans caught it on the spot during the search and the BDS team neutralized it.
Explosives also caught on Chhattisgarh-Telangana border
A day earlier on Tuesday, 10 Naxalites were arrested by the jawans on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. Explosives filled with tractor have been recovered from them. It is being told that such a large quantity of explosives was being taken to the big Maoist leaders. It has also come to the fore that this explosive was to be used for the attack in Chhattisgarh or Telangana. This was considered to be the preparation for the biggest Naxalite attack of this year. Among the naxalites caught, five were residents of Bijapur.
10 jawans including three head constables martyred in Dantewada attack
About a month back, on April 26, Naxalites carried out the attack in Aranpur of Dantewada. That day was also a Wednesday and 50 kg of explosives were used. In this, 10 soldiers including three head constables were martyred. While a civilian was also killed. All the jawans belonged to DRG (District Reserve Guard). On the information about the presence of Naxalites, the jawans had gone out for searching. Naxalites blasted IED while returning from searching. The vehicle of the jawans also got hit by it.
