Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin introduced a resolution related to reservation in the assembly on Wednesday. In this resolution, Stalin urged the Narendra Modi government at the Center to amend the constitution to provide reservation to “Adi Dravidians” who converted to Christianity.
The resolution said, “This respected House urges the Government of India to enshrine in the Constitution to extend the statutory protections, rights and concessions including reservation provided to the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes under the Constitution of India to those Scheduled Castes also.” Make necessary amendments to those who have converted to Christianity, so that all of them can reap the benefits of social justice.
Explain that the central government
Explain that the central government is not in favor of allowing the benefits of reservation after conversion, as it will lead to disintegration of the society. But the Tamil Nadu government is adamant that this should happen and they should force the central government to bow down to their stubbornness.
