Children will also get the Benefit of Atal Residential School Scheme
The benefits of the Atal Residential School Scheme, which was started to provide quality education to the children of poor labourers, will now also be available to the destitute children due to Corona. This proposal for amendment in the present arrangement of the scheme was approved in the 57th meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, to which NOC has been given by the government on Thursday.
After the amendment in the scheme, now along with the children of laborers, the children rendered destitute during the Corona period and the children eligible for the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana will also be able to get its benefits. The Women’s Welfare Department will make available the list of these children. Under the scheme, free quality residential education from class 6 to 12 will be provided.
In the order issued from the government, it has been said that NOC is being given on the amendment of the plan with the condition that the Board will comply with the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Service Conditions) Act 1996 and the relevant rules and regulations 2009 in this regard, as well Maintenance of social security interests of registered construction workers will be fully ensured in the interest of eligible construction workers.
Amendment in registration period also
The eligibility conditions of the scheme have also been amended. Under this, admission will be given only to the children of registered construction workers who have completed at least three years of membership of the board after registration. Earlier this period was kept only for one year. However, maximum two children of the registered working family are eligible to study in the school as before.
Every year the admission of the children of construction workers and the destitute children during the Corona period and the children eligible for the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana will be taken on the basis of the procedure laid down by the Atal Residential School Committee (AVS).
State government will bear the cost
The State Government will make available the payment of the expenses of destitute children and children eligible for the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana (General) during the Corona period, to the Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya Samiti (AVS), through which funds will be given to the schools.
For this, the Atal Residential School Committee will have to operate a separate account in a nationalized bank.
That’s why this school will be special
- The curriculum in these schools will be done through CBSE board and English medium like Navodaya Vidyalaya.
- The student capacity of each school will be 1000, in which there will be 500 boys and 500 girls.
- Quality hostel, food, sports, medical, security etc. facilities will be given to the children in the schools.
